Geethaka Fernando

I was born in Sri Lanka in 1982. I currently live in Derbyshire, United Kingdom and employed at Rolls-Royce Plc as an IT professional.

My relationship with photography started with my wife gifting me my first DSLR camera in 2012. My life has never been the same since then. Photography has given me the opportunity to converge my love for nature, travel and history into a medium that I could communicate with.

 

It has also made me change the way I look at things and appreciate the hidden beauty of some of the moments in life that I previously didn't notice enough.

I grew up in a coastal town in the western part of Sri Lanka. Very rarely a day went by without me getting a glimpse of the beautiful  Indian Ocean. The lush green of of  the tropical rainforests, misty mountains and the golden beaches of Sri Lanka moulded my love for vivid colours. Because of photography, now I could share these moments with other like-minded people.

I love landscape and wildlife photography more than other types but I'm interested in all different styles.
